Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump has signaled he's ready to withdraw or dramatically alter the landmark Paris climate agreement ahead of an expected announcement this week, though he is still weighing a final decision amid new pressure from foreign governments, business leaders and members of his own party to remain committed to the carbon reduction pact.

In conversations with European leaders, western diplomats and aides during his first international trip, Trump indicated he was poised to honor his campaign commitments to either withdraw from the agreement altogether or make significant changes to the US carbon reduction goals that underpin its participation in the accord.

The White House declined to say when Trump planned to make his intentions known, but officials familiar with the decision say an announcement could come as early as Wednesday.

Well CNN the semi-truthful newsers think Trump is going to file Paris into the crapper.

LS could be correct that Trump maybe looking to get his media response ducks in a row to defend against the likely wall-to-wall shrieking from the liberal media.

still weighing a final decision amid new pressure from foreign governments

He is letting them twist/ He may just cut it off but I suspect he will agree to maintain some shell of an agreement that does not hamper our own economy in exchange for some significant advantages in other areas.

The president met with EPA chief Scott Pruitt today. Pruitt probably reinforced his decision to pull out. When the announcement is made, it will pointedly be noted that the US Senate never ratified any treaty anyway.

Who cares what the media thinks. It's been wall to wall a to Trump for a year and a half and it's only picked up. Just get out, your base will love you for being true to your word and your enemies will hate you because you're President Donald I. Trump. If you send this to the Senate that's just another reason they'll use to delay the rest of the agenda

You’d best make it final President Trump.

I recall Bush forgot to dance with the one that brought him to the party....

The promises you CAN keep, you should keep.

If Trump folds on this, I’m out of politics and becoming an observer only. I will NOT support someone who can’t keep an easy promise.

I understand Trump can’t rid us of Obamacare without congress, but he does not need congress for this.

If you don’t bow out Trump, then get your support from the French.

This is nothing more than global wealth redistribution. These elites pushing this garbage want power, fame, wealth, and to rule over their fellow man. I mean think about it. How in the Hell can man stop or even attempt to slow down naturally-occurring environmental forces that have been in place for hundreds of millions of years?

Also think of all the environmental damage done, like say, in the 1800s. The horse and buggies, no landfills or modern waste disposals. People washing their clothes in the creeks or rivers. Even cars today are more fuel-efficient than they were in the 1970s.

How much greenhouse gas does mass transit wastes, when at times only a handful of people are riding a bus at any given time?

“Who cares what the media thinks”.

That’s right. It would be like Churchill caring if he had Hitler’s approval on anything.

Imagine if he withdrew from the Paris accords and on the same day announced the recall and closure of one or two American military units in Germany. Now that would be great but doubt any of it will actually happen.

"...he is still weighing a final decision..."

You wish, CNN. The President was on record denying the bs religion of Climate Change, long before he was ever elected.

He's going to pull the U.S. out of that suicidal accord, just like he pulled us out of the TPP. And oh, won't your diapers overflow when he does!

He should offer a compromise. Pull out of the deal but as a concession, give them Al Gore’s private jet and put him on a diet.

Great strategic response. I hope it's one that he uses.
