Turkey Refuses To Grant Germans Access To Incirlik Airbase
The Newz Sentinel ^ | 5-30-2017

While Angela Merkel is busy sowing the seeds of the next cold war between Germany and the Trump administration (and therefore the US, if only for the next three and a half years), a troubling flashpoint for Germany continues to grow in Turkey where on Tursday, Turkey’s foreign minister said it is not possible to allow German lawmakers to visit troops stationed at Turkey’s Incirlik air base now, although he said Ankara may reconsider if it sees “positive steps” from Berlin. It was not immediately clear just what Turkey’s “demands” or expectations, monetary or otherwise, were from Merkel for it to change its view.

“We see that Germany supports everything that is against Turkey,” Mevlut Cavusoglu told a news conference in Ankara. “Under these circumstances it is not possible for us to open Incirlik to German lawmakers right now … If they take positive steps in the future we can reconsider.”

Turkey has prevented German lawmakers from visiting the roughly 250 troops stationed at Incirlik as part of the U.S.-led coalition against Islamic State, saying that Berlin needs to improve its attitude first.

Erdogan is the real leader of Germany. He’s got millions of Turks in Germany loyal to him.

No matter how much she gives, they will ask for more. That’s just the way an army of occupation behaves.

IIRC, the US allegedly has nuclear weapons stockpiled at this airbase. I hope they have been removed by now.

Erdogan is the real leader of Germany. He's got millions of Turks in Germany loyal to him.

That is a complicated puzzle piece. I'm thinking the Germany/EU assumption was they controlled the German Turks, and would get NATO to "defend" Germany from uprisings by Europe's traditional Caucasian population when it rises up.

Crazy? No. Europe used NATO forces to get Khadafi out of power. One big aspect of that was European banks did not want Khadafi to withdraw his money that was in European banks.

Meanwhile, Edrogan is incredibly unamused about possible Western inspiration to the coup attempt against him. Go figure.

JMHO....the Morlocks who control the EU deserve the same fate as their counterparts in The Time Machine.

The US should exit its forces from the Islamist Turkey's Incirlik airbase and establish an equivalent airbase in Rojava (the autonomous, and friendly, Kurdish region in northern Syria). It would be PERFECTLY situated geographically for projection of American power to the region. And it would eliminate the problems we've had with Turkey in recent years — problems that will only get worse as Erdogan further migrates Turkey toward being the new Islamist state.

Sounds like flying in a German C130 full of swine might adjust Turkey's attitude!

Those Turks have a wonderful sense of humor. Send millions of people to Germany, then tell the Germans they can’t visit.
LOL

Most people forget that the Germans started recruiting young Turks to come and work in their country decades ago because they needed young workers to finance the welfare state.

They came, they stayed, and now are in the process of conquering because the demographics show Germany will run out of a majority of ethnic Germans within this century.
