Boston...New York...Baltimore...Rochester,MN...San Francisco.Lots and lots and *lots* of research money in each of those cities...along with the most talented research scientists on earth.
And yet some British judge says "no".
Could it be that the judge was just trying to save the British government some money?
If I were POTUS, I would be on the phone to Theresa May about it and expect a quick response or I would go public on it to pressure the UK government in the matter.
When the UK made the deal with the devil to found the NHS, they wanted free care, and just hoped against hope that they would be on the short end of the stick like this poor baby. Most are.
The Brits don't care about this kid, in spite of their maudlin newspaper articles to the contrary. As long as their care is free, this kid can just pass away. They collectively decided this sort of thing long ago.
So the clinical research goes on, far more aggressively in the US than the UK, and, the drug/device/technique finally gets hammered out by the Americans and multinational companies.
Then, rest assured that we Americans will pay full price and more, the multinationals will get full price for their work, and the rest of the world will get it all free or at a drastic discount (US taxpayers and working citizens paying what the rest of the world does not.)
Trump is right, we are saps, being taken for a ride by the globalists. They are robbing Peter to pay Paul, and we are the Peters (so to speak). It's got to end.
