It hasn't happened since the infamous Black Hawk Down battle in 1993.
Last month, a US soldier was shot and killed fighting in Somalia. Reports indicate the Navy SEAL was serving alongside his Somali counterparts — not advising from the operating base — as they battled al-Shabab militants.

I don't remember any SEAL deaths of the total 18 killed in Mogadishu. Please correct me if I'm wrong. According to a long History Channel expose on SEAL origins and battles I watched yesterday, Mogadishu was covered at length and stipulated there were only 4 SEAL snipers in that cluster-frig. One was injured.
BTW msn, SEALS are not soldiers; they are sailors. Can they get anything correct?
