[snip] In addition to the meeting at the FBI's offices, FBI agents working on the cyber inquiry were also seen at Trump Tower during the week of May 8. Officials who spoke to ABC News would not say whether the subject of Russias hack of the 2016 election was raised during the discussions.
Isn't it usually the other way around? That a company gets hacked and then asks the FBI to look into it?

I was thinking the same thing.
Something’s fishy about this. Maybe the FBI just wants a look inside.
When the DNC was hacked, the FBI offered to help but it was turned away. The DNC hired Crowdstrike instead. Wonder why?

A couple of things.
1. Are ABC and the Ny Slimes trustworthy when something is about Trump or his family.
2. How would the FBI know there was a cyber attack on the Trump organizationh, unless they were surveiling the communication lines?

Isn't it usually the other way around? That a company gets hacked and then asks the FBI to look into it? Isn't it usually the third way around, that the government gets hacked (DOD, OPM, etc. etc.) and then asks a private security contractor to figure out why the other private security contractor was unable to protect the government servers using 1965 technology.

Given that kimdotcom hacked into the pentagon...it seems like it would be possible to try to hack them via a sophisticated method..and they wouldnt know it....
Hacking is so sketchy...what with cia being able to do it and make it look like russia

“officials tell ABC News” = the same fake news being churned out by WaPo and NYT on a daily basis?
it appears that NONE of the media report anything but unsubstantiated rumors these days.
it has really pretty much pointless to a pay a bit of attention to anything they publish.

Hard to believe the FBI left Hillary’s network unobserved all that time. They must like the Trumps.

Couldn’t be the Russians since they already have guest accounts on all the Trump servers, so it must be the NSA trying to snoop around in them.

Seeing as how this article is from 26 May 2018, I’ll check back a year from now to see if it really happened.

I believe that it is very likely that the original FBI counter espionage investigation was initiated using fake information given to the FBI by an intelligence agency. Just another method used to manipulate the intelligence system to spy on their enemies.
