"The Republican base voted for Trumpism: an end to illegal immigration, an end to one-sided trade deals, an end to the spiraling cost of and dwindling access to health care, an end to decade-and-a-half unwon wars, an end to the hyper-regulation of every aspect of American life, an end to freeloader "alliances" like Nato, an end to the toxic bargain of "globalism" wherein all the jobs in your town migrate to the Third World and all the Third World migrates to your town. Trumpism is what appealed to these people, and, if that's your bag, Trump was the only guy running on it."
I agree totally.
when he suddenly does spontaneous asides that’s when I really pay attention.
he’s fantastic when he does that.
Gold Star post of the day.
Indeed. If we can dump McConnell and Ryan we'd have a better chance.
For me, it was when HRC said [paraphrasing]: Unwanted pregnancies are a health issue.
Of course she was talking about abortion. Hmmmm, fancy-schmancy double talk for murdering one of God's newest and most innocent of souls.
I like using the terms Islamunist and Islamunism.
So, OK, it bears repeating:
"The Republican base voted for Trumpism:
So there. And an end to paranoid climate-phobia, and an end to Banned Parenthood. I mean Planned Barrenhood.
There's the agenda we --- WE --- should be pushing like crazy. May I have an amen?
That is a great description. Love Steyn.
“And “bigly” is the new “nucular”.
Crap!
For the last time, Trump never said “bigly”!
He says “big league”!
The left loves this myth and uses it as an example of Trump being illiterate, which he is not.
Then you have all the FReepers using “bigly” as if it’s an endearing Trump quote, and totally oblivious to the fact that it makes Trump look like an idiot.
To make matters worse you always get the FReepers saying its a real word in the dictionairy. Totally irrelevant - it still sounds dumb - and as Steyn points out, it is the equivalent of Bush saying “nucular”.
The only difference - and it’s a big one - Bush really did pronounce nuclear “nucular”. Trump never says “bigly” he says “big league”.
I know it’s not central to the point of Steyn’s article, but this is such an annoying misquotation of Trump - I wish people would stop.
Sorry. Feeling better now.. thanks for letting me vent.
