Actually, the elderly are very cost-effective. They do not use the public school system.
FWIW, not in my neck of the woods. Most of our Medicaid load is indigent elderly. This bonehead may have a point to make, but he blew it big time with the way he made it.
And yet we pay taxes to support it, as I have for more than 60 years. To the Marxist/Democrats its all their money anyway.
They had the opportunity to have a public education when they were younger, in exchange they get the opportunity to support the public schools for the rest of their lives.
Old people still have in interest in the public schools because they are still eligible to vote for school elections.
Schools need to realize their “stakeholders” are not the kids or the parents, but a more inclusive group called the general public. Old people as part of the general public still have their responsibilities.
Elderly on fixed incomes can’t afford increases in property taxes—they have no vote no on these increases or start eating dog food.
The “compassionate” liberals know what they would prefer!
...and they keep being billed for it through property taxes. What a pathetic scam.
