I’ve noticed that too. We have been with USAA for 42 years. They used to have the best insurance rates and best service around for officers, then all military, hands down - Then the corporate mentality took over big time sometime in the early nineties and they have gradually succumbed to selling their insurance and mortgage services to sub-standard third party companies in order to save money for the corporate bottom line. The original intent and business model that USAA was founded on has long since left the building.
USAA panicked when Bill Clinton cut the military for a “Peace Dividend”.
They had a lot of employees to support and the Democrats were reducing the number of potential USAA members.
So they opened up the membership and started advertising.
They should have just cut employees.
They bowed to the Democrats and this is just the next logical step for them.
Yep 30+ years and though their insurance was often more expensive they took care of their members. Things started changing about oh 10-15 years ago when they started trying to grow outside their traditional member base. I’ve posted on their site, Facebook, twitter and called them. Have everything financial with them. Can likely save money going elsewhere... Navy federal still have an account maybe their.. if I have to. In my posts I’ve called for accountability from the executive committee to have Parker and whoever the decision makers were to be fired. Also noted I vote in those director elections.
