I doubt if anyone checks or even closely monitors what the NSA reports. Instead, what is reported is closely scrutinized and okayed.
Only the tip of the iceberg is ever “reported”.
Destroying the results of the illegal searches is nothing if not Obstruction of the law.
Of course, we know that the neo-fascism this illustrates goes much deeper than they have admitted.
Contact your congressmen and tell them to forget the Russia fraud, this is something that demands their full attention.
Basic answer is NO one really has a handle on all the intelligence gathering, dirty tricks and schemes in general.
When the CIA-Mafia attempts to kill Castro became public, some were so secret that not even the Director knew about them. Compartmentalization is so extreme that some plots work against another plot by elements of the Agency. This is how you get CIA funding of Castro and Batista.

What a crock! The NSA performs millions or billions of searches per day—each “search request” constitutes an incalculable number of individual searches.
If I take a single document from each of 100 locations, and stack them in one pile to read, that doesn’t mean I have performed one search. People have no idea what our government does on a regular basis.
