EXAMPLE

The most valuable gift you can give another is a good example.

"For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you." (John: 13:15)

In his autobiography, Armand Hammer, known as much for his humanitarian efforts as for being chairman and CEO of Occidental Petroleum, an advisor to presidents from Roosevelt to Reagan, and an industrialist, reveals the roots of his giving spirit:

"My father had become a prominent and greatly loved figure in the area. . .It was an almost ecstatic experience for me to ride with him when he was on his doctor's rounds. Patients greeted him at their doors with such a warmth that waves of pride and honor would surge in me to find myself the son of such a father, a man so obviously good, so obviously deserving of the affection he received. He could have, however, made himself many times richer if he had insisted on collecting all of his bills; or if he could have restrained himself from giving money away; but then he would not have been the man he was."

"I have seen, in his office, drawers full of unpaid bills for which he refused to demand payment because he knew the difficult circumstances of the patients. And I heard innumerable stories from patients about leaving money behind to pay for the prescriptions he had written when he visited people who were too poor to eat, let alone pay the doctor."

What a wonderful legacy to leave your child...the "business" of loving and giving to others.

LT S. Edwards, CHC, USN

Howdy, LUV.
They are cuties, aren’t they? Holli was grumpy because she was asleep when I got them out of the box. The other three were awake and playing already so they were more alert. Of course, that made it even harder to get pix because they kept moving around. LOL! There was no way to get a pic of all four together. I tried though.

Ya gotta come here to get here. LOL! I can’t leave to take off to deliver her. I get to go nowhere, being held prisoner by all these critters. :-)

They are definitely keepers, enjoy!

I think when you have 50 or more kittehs, you are referred to as the "crazy cat lady", LOL!

Glad things are going well.

Anything new blooming these days?

Our first clump of daylilies started blooming this week and many more will follow. The frilly peach, my faves, will be next.

I’m definitely enjoying them but we’ll see how I feel once they’re released from the confines of their box. LOL!

Friends and family have referred to me as the “crazy cat lady” for years. hee! Our record was 55 a few years ago, then the numbers slowly dropped back into the 30s. We managed to stay in the 30s for a few years and now we’ve broken 40 again. *sigh*

Holli’s the calmest of the bunch! She was grumpy because I woke her up to take pix ..... doesn’t like waking up any more than her “grammy” does. LOL

But they’re kittens and they grow up to be cats. And ALL cats are troublemakers. :-) We have a house full of them who’ll be more than happy to teach these four all kinds of bad habits.

Old Garden Roses in bloom - Reine des Violettes, Mme. Plantier, Gen. Jacqueminot and Mme. Gregoire Staechelin. Daylilies budding out - should begin their display in the next day or two.

They sure are cuties! Holli did look like she wasn’t very happy. LOL!

It’s a good thing they are so adorable right before you’re ready to throw ‘em out for their naughtiness! :)

Holli definitely wasn’t a happy camper. LOL! But it made her the easiest to get a pic of because she wasn’t very active. The other three were a different story. Whew, I wish I had just half their energy!

A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours, Pro. A nice weekend for you so far?

My one errand was a grocery run....caretaker made baked potatoes, meatloaf, green beans, and a homemade apple pie. Then she and my Mom put their heads together and made another shopping list for me for next week.

Then the crash....we have a walk in tub, which my Mom loves soaking in, but her knees locked up. No rhyme, no reason, but NO movement until they unlock when they feel like it. All hands on deck to keep her from falling. We finally got her out and things are getting back to “normal”.
