It’s the NYT that assumes confirmation by Spicer disregarding the claim.

Spicer statement:“ By grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia’s actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia,” Mr. Spicer said. “The investigation would have always continued, and obviously, the termination of Comey would not have ended it. Once again, the real story is that our national security has been undermined by the leaking of private and highly classified conversations.”

Yes, but that was in response to questions as to whether the account of what Trump said actually happened. That’s a weird response to make if you’re trying to say “it didn’t happen”.

I trust Spicer. And I think Trump was right to fire Comey for interfering. I think he’s a nut job too.

That seems to be how Trump does these things. It doesn’t matter to MSM even that they are being had. They just need to keep up the big noise about SCANDAL! whether there is a modicum of substance to hang it on or not, whether they are being played or not, just keep up the noise.

In late 2008 I was in the hospital here in Maine.

There was a middle-aged male nurse tending to me. He had a goatee and I assumed he was a liberal.

One morning, he brought in a copy of “The New York Times.”
He asked me if I wanted to read it. I frowned, and said, “No thanks.”

He looked at me, then looked down at the newspaper, and then looked at me again and said, “I don’t blame you. I don’t read these liberal rags either!” It turns out, he once lived in New York City and was a conservative.

Another male nurse walked into my room at the point; a guy maybe in his 40’s. The older male nurse pointed at me and said, “We’ve got a conservative here!” The second male nurse immediately started complaining about “that f***ing Obama” to quote him directly. He was a conservative, too.

Humm, I’m starting to see a pattern here, the New York times is either sill making up stories about Trump as is has been for the last year, or the Russian are starting to defend Trump.

As much as I hate to agree with the Russians, the New York Times has a history and a motive, the Russians do not.
