What? 211 years hasn’t been long enough to train the Iraqis on how to fight?
That’s how long it feels we’ve been there.
Last thing McCain said that I agree with was that we should have a VERY STRONG troop presence there for a hundred years.
ISIS et. al. would not have occurred.
Things weren’t great over there by 2009, but they got a LOT WORSE when the US military threat disappeared.
That opinion is separate from my opinion on whether we should have gone in or not.
It is an after the fact situation that had to be addressed.
McCain supported funding and arming ISIS. What the man thinks is of importance because it’s merely more to charge him with sooner or later.
Iraq does not have designs on other nations. It is intent on protecting itself.
I don’t mind advisors in there to help them. They have been making decent headway, and they’ve proven to me they want to defend their nation.
