Trump Pledges to Do ‘Whatever Is Necessary’ to ‘Fix’ Venezuela
Breitbart ^ | May 18, 2017 | Kristina Wong

“People don’t have enough to eat. People have no food. There’s great violence. And we will do whatever is necessary, and we’ll work together to do whatever is necessary to help with fixing that, and I’m really talking on a humanitarian level,” Trump said.

Trump’s remarks came during a joint press conference with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos at the White House. Western Venezuela shares a long border with Colombia.

President Trump did not specify what kind of help the U.S. would provide but said the U.S. would work with Colombia and other countries. Congress recently approved $450 million in aid for Colombia, proposed during the Obama administration.

“A stable and peaceful Venezuela is in the best interest of the entire hemisphere. And America stands with all of the people in our great hemisphere yearning to be free,” Trump said.

Shortly after the press conference, the Treasury Department announced a new round of sanctions, freezing the assets in the U.S. of eight members of Venezuela’s Supreme Court, which recently attempted to nullify the nation’s legislature and grant itself the right to draft laws.

The Trump administration issued similar sanctions two months ago against Venezuelan Vice President Tareck El Aissami under the “Drug Kingpin Act” for his ties to multinational drug smuggling operations.

Helping Venezuela in any way is propping up a socialist dictator!!

A hungry people will over-throw their oppressive Government. Stay OUT of it President Trump! We have enough of our own problems here at home.

The wealthy, the patrons, brought this on them selves.

Spain must be forever ditched before the new world colonies can lead normal lives.

The patrons are now in Miami and will never go back to screw things up

We have to deal with problems in the Western Hemisphere in mutually beneficial ways, or they will overwhelm us. This is exactly what happened in the Obama administration. They didn't deal with the problems, and the result is the US is overwhelmed with violence, drugs, and a seriously detrimental invasion.

If done correctly, helping solve those problems (like busting drug lords and human traffickers and help those failed countries set up self-sufficient safe communities) is a win-win situation.

Not one single American tax payer's dime should be spent on propping up Venezuela!

Venezuelans got EXACTLY what they wanted and deserved, and this is the horrific result. They willingly voted for and empowered Communism and a COMMUNIST DICTSTORSHIP.

Venezuela was once the richest country in South America until the communists took over. Mr. Trump, you want to "do whatever it takes" = THEN WORK TOWARDS ENDING COMMUNISM AND THE COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP IN VENEZUELA! But whatever, you do don't pro up and support the current COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP by giving them ANY U.S. "humanitarian aid" because NONE of that money will EVER get to the people who need it and every cent you give will be used to prop up the COMMUNIST REGIME in Venezuela.

Let Venezuela overthrow their COMMUNIST OPPRESSORS and then spend their OWN darn money to rehabilitate Venezuela.

Your job is NOT to make Venezuela great again; YOU WERE ELECTED AND EMPOWERED BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO:

"MAKE A M E R I C A GREAT AGAIN" and don't you forget it!

The Venezuelan people made their bed, let them lie in it until they have had enough and OVERTHROW THE COMMUNIST OVERLORDS THEY THEMSELVES PUT IN POWER. Only then should we begin to even think about helping them and not until.

Send them a copy of the US Constitution and tell them to implement that... everything else will take care of itself,

Any aid given to a dictatorship, will be seized to prop up the dictatorship. They will take all the food and ensure it ONLY goes to socialist loyalists.

The Reagan doctrine involved providing resources for peoples in Communist dictatorships to fight for their own freedom (e.g. Afghanistan Mujahedeen).

That might get to be a little stickier in Latin American, but if Colombia is willing to be a teammate, that might work. Maybe a joint agreement including friendlier places like Chile, Panama and Costa Rica.

Excellent advice. And while he's at it, he could send copies to all the occupants of the House and Senate, along with all the rest of the federal "workforce".
