Watch those NORK sats for fireworks.

Does EMP destroy devices that are powered down less than booted ones?

No, an EMP will affect everything the same. It provides the spark that shorts out the microelectronics.

So on or off, the affect is the same.

An EMP isn’t guaranteed to destroy everything. It usually takes a few - when we’re talking about high-altitude explosions. A HERF or directed EMP device is highly effective... but the EMP That we are mostly talking about is a side-effect of detonations.

Yup. The car parked in your garage is toast.

I think not.

The EMP screws up solid state stuff. Transistors, chips, ICs, like that.

So, turning off your XBOX won’t save it. (The XBOX comment is not for you, it is for the hoarfrost.)

Put it in a Faraday cage.

Get out your semaphore flags, smoke signals, pigeons, Pony Express, ...

Anything with a chip in it is fried.

.
Unplugged is the first step to safety, but a grounded cage is far better.

EMP is what I’m most concerned about when it comes to NK. The fat f—k is pure evil. The entire country needs to be a be a pile of rubble. Collateral damage should not be a concern in this case. At this point it’s them or us.
