I should have kept my 1963 Ford Galaxie 500. No electronics. Just points and a rotor.

A buddy of mine had a black 61 Galaxie Sunliner with the sleek roof and bubble back windshield. Beautiful car, Daytona model, hi-po 390, factory headers and dual exhaust, and 3 on the tree with O/D.

Raced him on the freeway one night. I was topped out, speedo was bouncing around between 135-140. He was right beside me, and he’d drop back suddenly and then catch up again but couldn’t get past me. I was in a 59 Vette with a mild build.

Later I asked him what he was doing and he said he was trying to get into O/D so he could leave me behind. Motor was too wrapped up and it wouldn’t shift.

Those are the only cars driving in “One Second After”. All the gas you want in the millions of dead cars everywhere. At least for a few a months until the gas goes bad. Of course, lots of bad guys with guns want your car in week 2 or 3. Keeping it won’t be easy.

Well, I still have my 1963 split window Corvette that I bought in 1964! Note to self, put some gas in it!
