Entering the country illegally the first time is not a felony, 2nd and subsequent illegal entries are felony’s. Invalid SS’s I suspect are felonies. Bush, Obama rarely charged these violations. I think Trump will.

This whole article prattles on about illegal immigrants, felonies, improper use of Social Security numbers and errant government contractors, and the last paragraph relates to five birds?

Just send all of California back to Mexico. The rest of us will not miss them when they are gone.

Good question.

Just anecdotal evidence, I’ve had various people come and do work around my house. And the tendency is that the guy in charge is a white man, but the hired help tend to be members of minority groups. And many of the hired help tend to speak other languages than English.

I assume that the contractor I hired has verified the legal status of his workers, but, I never know for sure about that. ‘

It’s the same issue here. The contractor, rather than the military directly, is the one who employs the workers, and it’s up to him, to comply with the law regarding employment.

“Yadira Munguia, center, of San Rafael, left, and Cristina Villanueva, of Hayward, comfort each other while talking about the recent deletion of their husbands Hugo Mejia and Rodrigo Nunez, respectively, by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Oakland.”

So if these women are these guys “wives,” why are their surnames different? And are they themselves also “illegally present” is our country. If that’s the case, were their children born here? Maybe ICE needs to pack up both families and drop them off back in Jalisco.
If Mexico spent half as much time as they do trying to send their “excess population” here, working to make their country a good place for ALL their citizens, it would be better for everyone.

Deport them and impose a heavy fine/jail time on their employer.

There is the answer to damn near all of our problems coming from South of the border.

Now go round up the rest of these employed by this contractor, file charges on the conractor and start rounding up this wetbacks family and his other family members.

Then we can say we be WINNING MAGA STYLE

We had, for a very short period of time, a cleaning service for a second home we own in Carmel that we rent out on occasion, that was run by a legal hispanic woman. But we determined that her help was all illegal so we discontinued using her. Thankfully, we have found a lovely white woman who lives in the area and has been there for most of her life to handle our cleaning requirements. It’s nice to have someone that you can trust with a key. The takeaway is that you CAN find American citizens to do this kind of work.

I hear little about the idea of putting pressure on Mexico to become a true constitutional democratic republic which respects human rights instead of the mess they are.

This would go a long way toward creating a vibrant economy which could support their population.

Part of the problem, especially in CA, is if a document is presented to you, you have to accept it unless the agency contact you to say it is false. I got in trouble refusing a multi-color SSN card. It was so obvious a forgery that it was laughable and it was blurry to boot. I was told that I am not an expert in forged documents so I was not in a position to determine its authenticity. Employers are damned if the do damned if they don’t. Funny thing is, anyone can go to the local social security office and get a card/number. If you aren’t legal or lack documentation you get a funky 999 or 995 number.

What they don’t mention is when someone uses you SSN, if they draw benefits, they deplete your benefits. This happened to a driver of mine. He tried to collect disability for a heart condition and was denied because his benefits were depleted. He had a heck of a time proving the fraud.

Agree that the contractor should be verifying the status of workers, but the military can control access to the base.
While on a Cruiser in Mayport, FL, we had a book on the quarterdeck with names and pics of individuals not allowed on our ship. We also had a process that allowed certain individuals to go directly to the contractor and tell them to remove a specific worker.

Several Years ago, I was a project manager at one of the AF engineering organizations. I managed repair and environmental projects as a contracting officers representative. At my first meeting with the contractor and the base personnel, I infomred them that all employees entering the base would have their records checked. At one base, one morning, a contractor employee was trying to enter and the Air Force Police held him on three DUI charges and he left in a county police vehicle.

they did not have valid social security numbers during a routine identification screening...

i.e. they committed identity theft.

I can’t image a contractor would have too hard of a time finding actual U.S. citizens to do the work

I worked on the construction of the new NSA complex at Ft. Meade back in 2010. ALL of the sheet rock crews were Hispanic. No way of telling if they were legal or not. Curious, though.

All of the landscaping crew at the hotel I stayed in were Hispanic, probably Guatemalan. But the marigolds were not as critical as NSA.

That being said, it seems that you will see far more hardworking sheet rock, masonry, etc. crews than those of other demographics, whether Black or Snowflake or Native American.

It isn’t a joke to me, but tell us all just how is Florida, where your page says you take your daily crap, better? When it comes to sucking off of the Federal Tit, Florida is second behind Mississippi. At least California is NOT a net “taker” from the Federal Government, and I guess you have to look the other way trying to convince the rest of us that illegal aliens from Cuba, Purerto Rico and Haiti, are different than Mexicans. Sucks to be you, telling lies.
