That’s actually my question. Just because this is dated in January, a legit review would have began months earlier, no? Or did it not start until this year (a save face on Obama’s part)?
I would think that at the very least, his actions prior to the election and subsequent to it, would have called to question the soundness of deciding to keep him on.
So whether an investigation was conducted or not, I think the major players already knew what was called for here.
From an administrative position it would not make sense to fire Comey until after the Justice Department had leveled out on good footing.
Sessions and the other guy making recommendations with cause, was all Trump needed to do the deed.
