WASHINGTON U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), Vice Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement regarding President Trumps firing of FBI Director James Comey:
The Presidents actions today are shocking. It is deeply troubling that the President has fired the FBI director during an active counterintelligence investigation into improper contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The administration insists theres no there there, yet President Trump has so far fired the acting Attorney General, nearly every U.S. attorney, and now the Director of the FBI. In addition, this Presidents choice for Attorney General has been forced to recuse himself, and the National Security Advisor has resigned, as a result of undisclosed contacts with Russian officials.
Now more than ever, it is vital that our ongoing investigation is completed in a credible and bipartisan way. We also need to hear directly from former Director Comey about the FBI investigation and related events.
The Presidents actions today make it clear to me that a Special Counsel also must be appointed. Thats the only way the American people will be able to trust the results of any DOJ investigation. The only way this Administration can begin to demonstrate a commitment to the rule of law, which has so far been sorely lacking, is to cooperate fully with the ongoing congressional investigations and to support the appointment of an independent special counsel.
This is so fun to watch;)
How would Warner have written this if Hillary had fired Comey?
FUMW.
You would thing George Steinbrener fired Billy Martin.
LOL. I just watched him. So predictable. Pathetic.
Old Mark must not have read the termination letter.
So let me get this straight. The Hillary campaign cooked up this so-called Russian connection to make an excuse for her miserable campaign. Firing an incompetent and probably unethical FBI director who colluded with the previous cabal is going to hinder this investigation of this imaginary case?
The libs are going ape-shite.....LOL
Oh, the insanity and horror of it all.
Libs, and bunch of GOPe, need to scared.....verrrrry scared.
The right FBI Director could be hunting them down like vermin....like shooting fish in a barrel.
Roll on, Trump! You got em blowing holes in their panty hose.....
Best election ever!!!!!
( ( ( ( ( ( Leftist Heads Exploding ) ) ) ) ) )
Mccain says potus has power to do it and he respects that.
Probably going to need a stiff drink after saying it.
By tomorrow he will find a way to criticize him
Am I the only guy who has downloaded that, suitable for framing?
“:^)
“The Presidents actions today make it clear to me that a Special Counsel also must be appointed”
This is what the Democrats do. They go hard and hammer away at it, over and over again.
Contrast the GOPe. When Hillary admitted that she ran a private server for her Secretary of State email records and destroyed tens of thousands of those records, where was the GOP demand for a Special Counsel?
They could have held up the Lynch confirmation as AG until one was appointed. They could have held up funding Obama’s administration. But, nothing.
Hey mark....Uranium One...how about you look into that? OR POSESTAS OWNING RUSSIAN STOCKS VIA HIS DAUGHTER.
FU Warner! He is a total disgrace to VA. Comey just testified in front of you guys and made himself look either incompetent or uber partisan and not looking after the American people.
But.....but.....but.....I thought the Democrats wanted Comey fired. After all, according to them, he cost Hillary the election.
He’s spinning up the courtroom scene of the Caine Mutiny right now to get some pointers.
Comey should have had Hillary investigated for all her unlawful acts while in office......Sen. Mark R. Warner are you just jesting or are you blind?
Take Action!
