I served my first Department of State tour of duty, in the Information Processing Center, from 2004-2006, handling IT for SecState/POTUS visit; one for Powell, four for Condi (of whom I'm fondi), and one for Bush. As an aside my final POTUS visit was in Rio de Janeiro when the unprofessional Obama Klan visited.

Say what you think, but I can tell you diplomacy was difficult in that period in Israrel.

Powell can to State and he immediately modernized the IT and Security, that coupled with the building survey in the late 80s/early 90s by another general I don't recall, new diplomatic missions were built/funded that can take hits from artillery and anti-tank rounds.

Personally, I loved the Bush Administration and Colin/Condi and even Bush - all made everyone feel like a million bucks - not the slaves the Obama Klan perputated upon us as personal servants.

You forget two foreign service specialists were killed in 2003 in the West Bank which caused some further IT upgrades to communications in the region. I remember th e day Gaza was turned over and the next morning when 10,000 jobs were lost because Hamas/PLO types rampaged and destroyed business and espcially the cut flower farms which exported millions of Shekles of fresh flowers flown all the world - Rome was built nor destroyed in a single day but Gaza was.

I lived thru Gas Scares, was close by to Store Bombing, saw the aftermath of bombings. Do you realize diplomacy kept those killings and bombings confined away from Jerusalem proper except for the Old City and Gates of the Old City area - no low intensity war in J-Rue.

Having processed information, sometimes typing responses or info updates on those SecState/POTUS Visits, I would defend the actions of the Bush Admin, Colin and Condi, to the bitter end over any charge(s). Obama is a traitor by definition, and that all I will let on to that end.

A few years ago there was talk about Dr. Rice becoming the NFL Commissioner. Wonder if she wants the job?

IIRC she was pushing for it. Her dream job.

I believe she was is in the midst of hawking a book when this Comey firing came up.

I appreciate your perspective on this Jumper.

I obviously didn’t have the inside vantage point you did. I do think your observations are relevant and mitigating.

This does perplex me though. I am a staunch supporter of Israel. I do my best to think of what is the best for that nation. When it is attacked, I expect it to act as we would.

Look at how we told Israel to use restraint, and then look at our actions in Iraq, a nation that didn’t even attack us on 09/11. (For the record: I’ve been on record here as supporting our actions in Iraq)

So we’re looking at a massive double standard. We attack Iraq. We urge restraint to Israel.

This didn’t happen just once. It happened over and over.

So in ways (Bush, who did it too) Powell and Rice may have been quite good. I’m not trying to detract from that, where it is warranted to note. I still can’t stand by and allow their actions with regard to this, to stand unchallenged.

It’s not just what she said, its how she said. I was a strong supporter of hers before this, but she chose race over ideology as clear as day. I’m sorry neither of you can see that. How often have you seen the SOS take over a Whitehouse press conference to happily congratulate the incoming opposition president?
