Trump's Smart Outsourcing of Judicial Picks
Bloomberg View ^ | May 8, 2017 | Noah Feldman

Plenty of Donald Trump’s decisions have been outside the conservative mainstream. But when it comes to judicial nominees, the Republican president seems to be calling them right out of the Federalist Society playbook. First came his U.S. Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, whose selection was predictable based on his elite legal conservative credentials. Now the individuals in his first wave of appellate nominees seem to be cut from the same cloth.

I know several of the nominees personally and others by reputation -- and that’s not a demographic accident. Trump is naming judges from my generational cohort, roughly mid-40s to early 50s. Lots of the nominees come from the legal academy and clerked for the Supreme Court. These are environments in which legal elites meet early and stay loosely in touch for a lifetime.

Here's a more balanced view of th excellent job PRESIDENT Trump's doing picking judges. Goes with my preceding post on the same issue.

As for the Daily Beast article, sometimes it's only possible to know how much we're winning if we see what the enemy has to say.

According to AP Trump has “begun he process of stacking the courts with Conservatives”. Oddly, I don’t recall them saying Omaha was stacking the courts with liberals.

I’m going to a lecture Thursday given by the Federalist Society and titled:

The Trump Court: Gorsuch and Where We Go From Here

I’ll report back. Usually the food and wine is really good and the last time I went the lecturer was Roger Severino. The one before that I forget his name but an amazing black conservative who had clerked for Clarence Thomas and was the first person to go from such a clerkship directly to partner in a major DC law firm. I forget his name. These people are amazing.

You mean according to the Ministry of Truth, Trump has “begun the process of stacking the courts.”

My local paper had the same headline; apparently, AP stories come complete with headlines.

He who controls the headlines controls public opinion.

Sucking up to “elites,” whether they be liberal or conservative, turns my stomach.

Unless, of course, by “elite” one means actually, demonstrably superior - as in: “LeBron James is an elite athlete.”

The more the Left squeals, the more you can have confidence that we are winning. I want more, much more.

Oh, and BTW, Trump lied - I am NOT tired of winning, nor will I ever be until the last Leftists are in a zoo, a species being protected against extinction.

Would you be kind enough to ping me when you post after attending the lecture? I will be interested in what you observe. Thanks!

With Gorsuch already paying dividends, I look to a vastly improved judiciary.

As a lesson.

However, I would have them locked in a very high security zoo, with no internet availability, and inside of sound-proof enclosures...no sense in letting them infect people’s minds.

Oh, FYI, the Centers for Disease Control DOES have some of the most virulent diseases on the planet in containment - because you have to have a sample to be able to produce a vaccine or cure.
