Opposition MK Micky Rosenthal (Zionist Union) participated on Saturday in a Shabbatarbut event in Modi'in and attacked various Likud members.
"The last ten people on Likud's list have the same IQ," Rosenthal said. "These are people who are not worthy of being in the Knesset."
Coalition Chairman David Bitan (Likud) attacked Rosenthal for his statement, saying it "stinks of racism."
"The ones who grade MKs are the voters," Bitan said. "The nation chose the Likud, even though it knows who Likud's leader is and who the last ten members of its list are. I think our third set of ten MKs includes excellent, social people."
"This comment stinks of snobbishness, racism, and anti-Sephardic preferences, because it is well known that our last set of ten MKs are mostly of Sephardic descent."
Opposition MK Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) also spoke about the event.
"MK Rosenthal needs to apologize for his hurtful words," Lapid tweeted.

IMO Ashkenazi Jews are on average smarter.
I have met a few Ashkenazi Jews that were not smart in the least, so it is not always true.
Nobody, in this day and age, could write, with computers, staff, and preeminent scholars in collaberation over 20 years, what Moshe ben Maimon did in ten years, the multivolume Mishne Torah, which he composed on the run and in hiding and from memory. I think any Ashkenazi’s IQ would be hard put to match that.

I was just speaking of averages. In each ethnic group you will find people of genius level IQ (140+ in US)
Some people don’t miss a single question on IQ tests... I wonder what it feels like to be that smart.
We can all take comfort in the fact that God loves us all the same regardless of how smart or dumb we are :-)

Labour, now Zionist Union, was formed mostly from European Jews. Likud was mostly formed from Jews from Arab countries. Today, one is center-right and the other center-left. But, the ethnic originations continue to color characterizations of them. All around the world, the trend in politics is the over-educated looking down on the working class, and trying to get elected by offering goodies to those who don’t work.
Then they get morally outraged when the working class types don’t rise to the bait and get hooked. They start calling them names like deplorables, and casting aspersions on their intelligence, and college kids throw stuff at them and start looting stores.
A high score on an IQ test doesn’t take much smarts. As with all things, it’s learning to play the game. When I was about 7, I was pointing out flawed IQ test questions. Mine is supposedly 132 and that’s only because I’d get bored so intentionally missed questions. See, flawed. I’m no Einstein, I only learned the game.
