ALL those pols ... should be turned out

Start a triage list:
1. Those to definitely keep.
2. Those to definitely focus on and defeat.
3. Those who should not be the focus because
....A. They cannot be beaten
....B. It is not a focus if there are too many on the list.
....C. We cannot defeat someone with nobody. If we don’t have a viable candidate, then don’t waste our time.
....D. Trump proved that previous conventional wisdom should not be followed blindly in determining what and who is winnable.
....E. So take most of those we dislike off the list to defeat.
....F Focus on those left on the list who are beatable and undesireable.

Example Illinois Districts
1 D Rush
2 D Kelly
3 D Lipinski-BlueDog? keep? Convince to switch parties?
4 D Gutierrez
5 D Quigley
6 R Roskam keep
7 D Davis, Danny
8 D Krishnamoorthi maybe beatable, who is our candidate?
9 D Schakowsky
10 D Schneider maybe beatable, who is our candidate?
11 D Foster very beatable, who is our candidate?
12 R Bost
13 R Davis, Rodney Swamp champion?
14 R Hultgren Keep
15 R Shimkus Swamp champion?
16 R Kinzinger Swamp champion?
17 D Bustos Very beatable
18 R LaHood Swamp champion?

As can be seen above, I don’t like swamp dwellers.
Can we allow decentralized decision making? Jobs are an issue in many districts. But by 2018 they will no longer be the big issue. The ratio of illegals and Hispanic immigrants will not increase. So that will not draw votes in 2018. To win, we must run on what is relevant in 2018, not what was relevant in the past. If we become like Hillary, a candidate of the past, we will lose.

Thanks for a reasonable response...

A few years back I was ‘interested’ in an anti-incumbent move.

Like you indicate, may sound good on paper but without viable replacements, it is a lesson in futility.

Of course, in some cases ‘we’ may be better off WITHOUT the likes of say - McCain & Graham who seem to be at the top of ‘lets tweak Trump’ movement...

Remember a few years back when the Senate was tied, McCain came up with an ‘across the aisle’ solution..Have equal representation on the committees etc... Someone said that was a great idea, lets have CO-CHAIRS and somehow Juan was not receptive to that idea ... That was/is the epitome of

‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others’...

I used to point out that when all of ‘us’ sit around and ‘debate’ the issues the trend seems to be ALL politicians, lawyers, teachers etc etc are lacking in one respect of another

BUT

when it comes election time the theory hangs in there with ONE exception...my pol/teacher/lawyer etc is great, not like the rest of them.....

Then we wonder why the same trash repeatedly goes back into play....
