The FBI learned it’s lesson in the ABSCAM case in the early 1980’s. They won’t ever again take on top-levels of the D.C. power structure. In the name of preserving “the FBI as we know it”.
Thanks for the reference. I don’t much about ABSCAM. I did a google search to find the impact on the FBI. In doing that I found this short NPR piece that has surveillance tapes of the sting.
