PORTLAND, Ore. -- What began as a peaceful march for labor rights on May Day in Portland turned violent as a group of self-described anarchists snowflakes threw objects at officers and officers fired non-lethal weapons back. Police canceled the permitted march and deemed it a riot as tensions escalated.

Portland police arrested 25 protesters, on charges ranging from arson to assault, criminal mischief and theft. All 25 suspects were cited for failing to obey a peace officer, and police said the arrests will be reviewed for additional charges.

Whenever there are reports of arrests like these, I wonder if the charges are later dropped or minor fines are assessed. The media never follows up so we are left to our suspicions.

“officers fired non-lethal weapons back”

There is the problem right there. The authorities need get control of these things before they spin out of control.

Interesting how prominently Pepsi figured into the story...

Rallies began at noon and a march started at about 3 p.m. Portland police reported members of an anarchist group threw rocks, smoke bombs, a full Pepsi can and other objects at police officers at about 4:10 p.m.

The Pepsi can struck a Portland Fire and Rescue paramedic, police said.

May not have been reported but those rioters learned an important, fundamental lesson about effective policing. When the cops know the courts or politicians won’t act definitively, they are sure that the rioters come to know there is an immediate painful price they pay for their crimes.

These were not snowflakes. These were the anarchists.

If they are part of an organization, the organization has lawyers to get the charges dropped. Getting the charges dropped is a major incentive to convince the rioters to continue. If they get fined or jailed, they may walk away from the movement.

This is Portland where Black Bloc was founded. They are now referred to as antifa, but they are by and by Black Bloc. Same tactics, same message, same grab. From the 90s there was a blogger w name of tacoma in his full moniker who was part of the Tacoma PD retired who tracked Block Bloc as subversives. Black Bloc doesn’t want to show their face, but I got photos of 3 in NC during a John Kerry protest. When they showed up we reminded the police that you can’t have faces covered (KKK law) at protest or marches. The Police gathered several BB around and said they needed to uncover or leave. they all left, two of us followed 4 BBs to their car and got uncovered photos, sent to tacoma blogger who IDed them. Two traveled all over the country, they were trust-funders, never worked a day in their life. He IDed the third one, but can’t remember what he said about her. The 4th one we couldn’t get a good frontal or profile photo.
google BB if interested

They can pay a price for it with cracked heads or real jail time. I'm okay with either as long as they actually pay.

Most of the time they are caught and immediately released so they can keep doing it over and over again

Form what I have heard, they are usually arrested and released the next day with no charges.

Don’t believe the media spin—Black Bloc and AntiFA are leftists/progressives/communists.

Catch and Release has NOT worked with the illegal aliens and won’t work in Portland with their scummy anarchist problem.

Bust heads....real jail time.

Replace loony judges.
