The turmoil at Fox News Channel has claimed another victim (Bill Shine gone)
AP ^ | DAVID BAUDER

Posted on 05/01/2017 3:38:29 PM PDT by RoosterRedux

Fox News Channel said Monday that co-president Bill Shine is out, the latest high-level departure at a network beset with charges of harassment and discrimination that have already claimed founding CEO Roger Ailes, leading personality Bill O'Reilly and a top financial executive.

Shine was not accused of any direct wrongdoing. But the longtime Ailes lieutenant was considered vulnerable because of claims that he looked the other way as charges of toxic workplace behavior piled up, with some believing that the network would never truly be able to move on without him and other Ailes loyalists.

His leadership experience learned at Ailes' feet was considered invaluable for the top-rated cable network, and Shine had been named co-president with Jack Abernethy upon Ailes' departure. Abernethy, who has spent much of his time at Fox working with Fox-owned broadcast stations and not the news channel, remains. Fox also said that it was promoting two other executives, Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace, into more prominent newsroom roles.

In a memo to Fox News staffers, Rupert Murdoch, executive chairman of parent company 21st Century Fox, said "sadly, Bill Shine resigned today. I know Bill was respected and liked by everybody at Fox News. We will all miss him."

"Fox News continues to break both viewing and revenue records, for which I thank you all," Murdoch wrote. "I am sure we can do even better."

Stick a fork in Fox. They’re done. All their new line-ups suck. Bolling actually had Mark Cuban, the Circus guy, Trump hater Kat Tims and a liberal lawyer on. Eric Bolling didn’t even hold the conservative line against them. They’re simply rearranging the deck chair. The SS FNC is going down. I know I’m done.

Do you buy this? Some are saying that Hannity is leaving by the end of the week.

As far as The Eric Bolling Show goes, every time I looked at the screen, it was Eboni Williams doing the talking. Did she seem to be leading things, or was it just me?

Well, Trump said he wanted to create a new network.

He should call Ailes and Shine (and O'Reilly) to an Oval Office meeting ASAP.

Let's get this thing started.

I think he’s going to be creating the new Fox. O’Reilly is out there and Hannity may jump ship. Throw Watters into the mix and Fox will begin to look weak.

I would have guessed by Memorial Day, but nothing would surprise me anymore. I haven’t watched FOXNews in a while, and I will probably not watch it again.

I do have one set of torn loyalties, however: “comfort TV” for me is watching episodes of The First 48, Nightwatch, and Live PD, but A&E just gave $400,000 of advertiser money to BHO, and I do not want to be associated with anything that is associated with a Marxist pseudo-Muslim American-destroying ex-President.

And cute as she is, does Eboni say anything memorable? Not imho.

All the conservative men and women at Fox should sexual harass each other, and then sue Fox.

Get fired, get a settlement package, and invest that settlement package in equity of the new conservative network.

Jump onto RSBN and grow it from the ground up into a new conservative powerhouse. Reward those loyal Alabama boys down there.

Really awful show. I turned it off. I noticed today that almost all guests on shows are leftists now.

Too much Whoraldo now too. They are even ruining Fox & Friends.

Nope. Hannity will receive an offer he can’t refuse. Highest paid cable host. Rupert has to staunch the bleeding and bail his worthless sons backsides out. Again. Hannity will be the beneficiary. And he takes the money, unless someone has the wherewithal to offer him a sizeable equity stake in a conservative startup. He’s the last man standing, and he gets to dictate his terms.
