Congressional negotiators reached a bipartisan deal late Sunday to fund the federal government through September, easing the threat of a shutdown but denying President Trump several key priorities including money for his promised border wall with Mexico.
The estimated $1-trillion omnibus package would provide $12.5 billion in increased military funding, about half the amount Trump requested from Congress. Another $2.5 billion for defense is available if the administration submits a counter-terrorism strategy to fight Islamic State.
But the final deal failed to include the big cuts to domestic non-defense accounts that Trump was seeking, and thus emerged as something of an embarrassment to the White House in his first budget negotiation with Congress.
It actually would increase federal spending on medical research, green energy programs and other areas that the White House had pegged for sharp reductions. Under it, the National Institutes of Health would see an increase of 6%, or $2 billion....

Veto it. Keep sending it back. If they override, let Trump make his case to the American people. And campaign against those who would not fund the wall.
Epic fail
Rather than Ryan and McConnell, it appears that they are acting as if we’ve elected Chuck Schumer to the White House.
In light of these revelations concerning the disastrous continuing resolution bill, I thought it would be instructive for all of us to take a second look at a previous vanity which enables all of us to judge the first 100 days of the Trump administration according to the objectives set down by Jim Robinson.
In addition to revisiting the list, it would probably be even more instructive to respond to the categories as though we were judging minority leader Charles Schumer’s first 100 days and then compare the results.

“How about we take the blindfold off?”
There you go again, spewing forth with your constant anti-Trump drivel. You are a perpetual source of it, I’ll give you that. An endless supply of not so subtle vitriol. At least your are consistent, like a nagging toothache.
The repubs are throwing away their likely last chance to actually lead the Nation.
If they don’t fund The Wall , dump the ACA, and several other Trump signature issues the mid-term election will go against them.
There is no point in electing a repub, they are weak dim-like with no cojones.
Planned parenthood is a wall!
Why won’t the Dems be able to block the new budget?
Trump has to veto. If Ryan and McConnell think they can run rings around him now, they’ll do exactly the same in September and keep doing it.
- No wall.
- Planned Parenthood gets money.
- No funding cut for sanctuary cities.
- EPA retains 99% of its budget.
- Obamacare remains funded.
Trump can’t accept a deal this bad and expect to be taken seriously in future negotiations. If the RINOs sense he’s willing to accept defeat on bad terms rather than walk away, that’s all they’re going to negotiate on.
C’mon Mr President, don’t accept this crap, MAGA!
Dude, you are moving into Baghdad Bob territory with this pie in the sky stuff you’re constantly posting.
This bill is a huge loss for both Trump and the American people at a time when we hold all the power. No excuse for this total capitulation.
“What are you afraid of?”
Not you, that’s for sure. We’ll have this conversation about Trump and what he has accomplished at the end of this year, so that you can eat crow and I can gloat.
VETO it....
Wall.
Deport.
Sanctuaries.
REPEAL O-care (who says anything about ‘replace’??)
Whatehehell did WE vote for anyway?

So Ryan and McConnell and that bunch are acting as if we’d elected Hillary Clinton to sit in the White House?
+++++++++++++
Of course.
Any *negotiations* with the left only ever mean full capitulation to the left. It has never been different. It will never be different.
Any efforts to “reach across the isle” to the left is only ever a signal that the intention is a full capitulation to the left. It has never been different. It will never be different.
Oink, Oink. Veto this Porkulous Bill.
I’m pretty certain Trump will obediently sign this bill just like President Schumer is telling him to do.
If you cannot gloat at the end of this year you will not "put your big boy pants on" you will again resort to snarky condescension and blame me because you're incapable of putting policy over personality and you will remain that way until you crash psychically.
If Donald Trump cannot succeed now when he has the momentum of his election in his pocket how do you think he is going to succeed nearly a year later in September when all the forces are arrayed against him and all the special interests have coordinated when he has done nothing but lose and they have done nothing but win? Have you ever seen a president grow stronger rather than weaker if he fails in moving legislation at the beginning of his term? Similarly, when a president cannot accomplish any legislative achievement (appointment of a supremecourt justice to the contrary notwithstanding), he is very unlikely to accomplish much in his first year.
The hard reality is that Schumer is now running the country from the Senate, he has won on the wall, he has won of the budget where the real priorities of the nation are expressed, he has won on Planned Parenthood he has won on immigration he has won on funding the military he has won everywhere except on the appointment to the Supreme Court and some executive orders.
Very soon we will see whether it is Chucky Schumer or Donald Trump who wins on tax cuts. If history is prologue ..
Yep - I'd like to be able to peek inside President Trump's head for a while - I would wager he is plotting ways to make them feel the vise tightening around their gonads while smiling the cheerful smile and saying "nice things" about them..
“So basically, cool your jets, relax, any concessions that Trump/Pubs have to make now, will be corrected and funded in September.”
And all the unborn babies killed in the PP mills this bill keeps funded, how is that concession going to be corrected exactly?
Trump was praised for taking decisive action when he saw the suffering of Syrian children, but when it comes to the suffering of unborn American children we’re told to relax and wait for September?

Exactly.
