It seems as if New York Times columnist David Brooks has crawled back from the Antifa ninja play warrior resistance limb he went out on right after the last election and has decided that he can now just barely tolerate the crease in the pants of President Donald Trump. His April 28 column has announced that he is dialing back his "Outrage Level 11" Trump derangement syndrome down to a mere level 3 or 4 on the outrage scale.

The fact that David Brooks draws a paycheck for the crap he spouts never ceases to amaze me.
It’s all about superficial external appearances for David Brooks, for some strange reason. It’s not as if he’s a prime example of aesthetic perfection in his person, himself. But, he’s decided that Antifa isn’t cool anymore and is more embarrassing than Trump. Nothing deeper than that, like Paris Hilton changing her hairstyle.
Trumps bombing of the Syrian government turned around a lot of neocons, neoliberal, and mccainiacs. All they really hated about him was his promise not to do more regime-change wars. They now think he is reconsidering that promise. This fact, and his failure to push hard for the wall, is making Brooks and like-minded rest easy
