Even FOX can't get it right. Ann Coulter did not cancel the speech. The spineless sponsors of the event did. Ann told them she would speak from a tree stump if necessary. They cancelled her speech.

you're right--the event sponsoirs acted just like the republican congress--total cave. BUT--Coulter could have gone anyway. She probably figured if conservatives won't stand up for free speech, then maybe they don't deserve to have it.

Very unfortunate. but like I said, there are things that could be done about it. Time for trump to get involved. Sending in the national guard and using the justice department would be good starts.

You don't just "go" and speak. You have to have the room reserved, someone has to unlock the building, someone has to turn on the lights and a/c, etc.

Going as an uninvited speaker might have given the authorities some pretext for arresting her. Of course, that raises other issues, e.g., to what extent can governmental entities require such things as permits in order for you to exercise free speech?

I wanted Ann to go anyway, even risking her life, to be brave for our country. She could have gotten any number of powerful security people and worn a vest etc.

But if she cannot get normal liability insurance, then she is liable for anything that injures anyone else there, and they would set her up but good. That is too much. I understand why she can’t, if she has become “uninsurable” due to the fact that our snowflake cities can’t stand to hear conservative opinions.

President Trump, you’ve got a lot on your plate, but Freedom of Speech is a Yuge issue: please take an evening and speak on this to the country.
