Three of the nations largest media organizations are being sued two by the same lawyer for racial discrimination.
A half-dozen people have filed suits against the New York Times and Fox News, while as many as 175 current and former employees have contacted lawyers about joining a class-action suit against CNN.
The Times plaintiffs claim in a suit filed last year by New York lawyer Douglas Wigdor that the Gray Lady prefers to hire white employees to help target a white audience.
Unbeknownst to the world at large, not only does the Times have an ideal customer (young, white, wealthy), but also an ideal staffer (young, white, unencumbered with a family) to draw that purported ideal customer, a complaint states.
Staffers from the staid broadsheet charge that Times CEO Mark Thompson, hired in 2012, created an environment rife with discrimination based on age, race and gender.
The suit claims Thompson and Chief Revenue Officer Meredith Levien phased out older, nonwhite staffers in favor of fresh faces, which plaintiffs said was code for younger employees without families, and who were white.
Court papers also accused the Times of paying Latino and black workers significantly less than white counterparts.
The Times has said the action has zero merit.

Jesse Jackson think this one up?
Popcorn anyone?
The snowflakes take Manhattan.
What do you expect after the news that Fox has paid out millions?
And yet somehow, when I heard this reported on CBS this morning, they only mentioned that Fox News was being sued.
Good. Sue the dinosaur media into oblivion.
They all tried to derail Trump and, by extension, derail our chances of saving this country.
And that includes FOX.
Hopefully outfits like OAN will emerge as a media force to be reckoned with.
Considering how the NYTimes has dumbed down its reporting (gossipy, unsourced, no historical memory) this shows the opinion its editors have of its so-called target audience. They seem to think they are writing for morons.
This was my experience as well. Fox news was the only network mentioned as being sued. So typical.
Maybe time for lose pays for both sides.
They will be using the phony “legal” theory of Obama -
disparate impact.
What he and holder devised as “disparate impact” means the plaintiff does not have to prove anyone directly attempted to make racially motivated decisions that discriminated against anyone, merely that the “impact” of whatever decisions were made, no matter how they were made, was “disparate” to some proportional demographic rendering of the possible population involved.
Wondering why all these lily white law firms are not yet getting sued for racial discrimination?
Hey, everyone knows that minorities can't or won't read! < /sarc >
