Unveiled: President Trump’s Tax Plan!
IWB ^ | Pamela Williams

President Trump has just unveiled his tax plan, and so far it sounds good to me!

President Donald Trump unveiled his tax plan with the following points:

Proposal to slash corporate taxes, Tweak personal tax rates, Eliminate most deductions used by more affluent Americans, The plan was announced by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn during a White House press briefing.

Mnuchin and Cohn said the plan would include “the biggest tax cut” in US history.

Mnuchin told THE HILL that the White House and congressional leaders wanted to pass the bill “as quickly as possible.”

It sounds quite good to me, and I hope I am reading it the right way….all the signs say “good for the American people.”

It’s nice that there will be only three tax rates but has anyone seen where these rates will apply?

It proposes three individual tax brackets of 12 percent, 25 percent and 35 percent, the latter being slightly higher than 33 percent called for in the House Republican plan.

I’d like to know what income ranges these brackets relate to.

I have a feeling my taxes will go UP.

I like it....

But I would hope that the repatriation tax relief would not permit idiotic stock buy backs that just boost CEO pay through stock options. That would be crazy.

Anything that is not a Constitutionally cemented flat tax, or a Constitutional elimination of the income tax in favor of a uniform tariff will soon grow all the complications that are being lopped off at the moment and will get higher and higher and more and more “brackets” until it is as bad and economy killing as what we have now. I do not “oppose” Trump’s tax plan. It will buy us a few years of relative prosperity when coupled with heavy DEregulation. But all of it is reversible and will be reversed. Not Congress nor the bureaucracy will give up the social engineering tools and the corruption inherent in the type of income tax we have.

I saw a chart and was shocked at the way it’s laid out.

A lot of people get kicked to an upper bracket with the new guidelines.

I would have liked ONE tax rate. Zero :)

Not sure what the hell “income tax” means. Why did we start paying a tax on earnings?

Yesterday protesters from the group People's Action descended on Heritage's DC office to condemn Heritage's role in inspiring President Trump's new budget.

The protesters filled the first floor lobby and put the building in lock down.

The Heritage then took to Twitter, using the protest as a means to further promote their conservative agenda.

“Thank you @pplsaction for the opportunity to tell more people about our budget to tackle the $20 Trillion debt!” Heritage tweeted, along with a link to its proposed 2018 fiscal blueprint.

Heritage vowed it would “not be bullied or silenced by staged protesters backed by progressive special interest groups connected to George Soros.”

“Heritage will not back down. We will keep fighting for a responsible budget, a pro-growth tax system, Obamacare repeal..” the organization wrote.

Exactly. We know it’s going to happen. For every Trump step forward, the enemy tries to force two steps backwards.

I just read this......

More details from Cohn:

– 3 tax rates being proposed, of 10%, 25% and 35%. And on the first $24,000, 0%.

– They also propose doubling the standard deduction.

Still not enough info. I want to see income ranges for these rates.

Although my income is in the low bracket I think it is fundamentally wrong to tax higher income at higher rates.

There’s the rub.

I do well under his plan. I just don’t remember the exact numbers.

Like I said, my brother the law, not so much.

Is there anyway to justify a progressive tax for a conservative?

Maybe there is. I dont know

Oh you’re absolutely right.

What Trump is doing is unfair and unconscionable .

We deserve NO income tax and a National Sales Tax.

But we all know that ain’t gonna happen.

I think I like what I see, but I won’t know until those “calculate your taxes under the plan” links begin to appear.

A conservative conserves the status quo. Democrats are the party of the status quo.

The best the Republican factions can agree on is a very small improvement from the status quo... but it is an improvement... creeping common sense to replace creeping socialism.

Dems took baby steps for 50 years while turning out media into porn-like filth.

We’re headed in the right direction. you’re right.

The devil is in the details. What deductions am I going to lose and what will the tax bracket income levels be?
