My historian friend told me, chivalry was nothing but a vain and useless attempt to put a happy face on feudalism, the dark ages and medieval warfare. Chivalric code and romance were seen as a farce and died at the beginning of the 100 years war. It wasn't until Edmund Burke pronounced it dead after the French Revolution centuries later that people finally accepted it as a racket, an excuse and farce for men to kowtow to rich men in armor and to get into bed with some "damsel" or display ones prowness and manhood.

In the good ol days, nothing was sacred. Nothing... I guess that's why sinners like us refer to them as good ol days.

The Sophisters, economists and calculators were already in charge by the 15th century and everything else went into place.

Yep, the purpose of chivalry was to gain access to female body parts. Knights/nobles/Kings had an ongoing supply of mistresses or damsels in distress (More accurately, damsels who needed rescue from “boredom”).

Yep, “chivalry” was originally invented as a cover for adulterous affairs among the noble classes. It was never intended to be the rule for normal relations between men and women in the first place. That’s a myth invented by women who want to receive special benefits from such treatment.
