That was a very reasoned report.

I don’t have any idea why those officers would let the radical Left group toss what amounts to bombs into the crowd of Trump supporters and not do anything to stop it?

Are they union officers? Were they told by their union shop steward to stand down?

That one officer who told the officers to stand down, got in front of them and pushed them away from the scene.

Those officers have a code of conduct, and I would submit they did not adhere to it on this day.

Is that actionable? Can they be fired for it?

Is it grounds for a lawsuit on Constitutional equal protection or some other grounds?

Sure would like to see Berkeley have to pay a $10 million dollar civil rights penalty.

The Coulter suit should address some of those great issues you raised.

Apparently the bar for police intervention at the Battle of Berkeley (and, I would wager, for the ill-fated nighttime Milo event) was IMPENDING DEATH.

No, really:

You could be pepper-sprayed within sight of the cops or beaten by a circle group stomp while curled up into a quivering ball, again within sight of the cops, and they would do NOTHING, as long as it appeared likely you would SURVIVE.

I mean it turned out that’s the standard the police had arranged ahead of time.

Repeatedly the Berkeley Mayor has tweeted messages in support of AntiFa positions (he did that during the Milo event), so my guess is that his comfort level with their politics has something to do with that.

There are also others alleging that the Mayor is actually A MEMBER of AntiFa (and even BAMN), though I don’t actually know that.
