To certain people, "next Wednesday" means in two Wednesdays. This, as opposed to "this Wednesday", which would mean April 26.

I don't like the phrase "next ", because it is ambiguous, and therefore meaningless. Accuracy matters.

Hopefully, he means Apr 26. The sooner, the better.
