A gunman opens fire in Paris,  killing one police officer and wounding two. Islamic  State quickly claims responsibility, naming the gunman as “a soldier of the caliphate.”

The savage attack is the latest of many in Paris, understandably sparking widespread fears of terrorism. But some Parisians desperately seek convenient explanations that will let them avoid the necessary conflict.

“Is it because we’ve joined forces and joined a coalition in Iraq and Syria against Islamic State?” one businessman asked on Paris television.

Ah, a perfectly French reaction. If only the country had been nicer to Islamic State, it wouldn’t have this problem. Right, and if only the French had been nicer to Herr Hitler, he would have left them alone.

Yet the habit of ducking a fight with evil is not limited to the French, with some Americans also infected. Appeasement here is expressed as fears that France’s unwashed masses might actually vote to do something about terrorism in Sunday’s presidential election.

Absolutely agree. Ever since Vietnam we have allowed politicians and public opinion run the wars. The Rules of Engagement for our troops is pure stupidity. Playing nice on the battlefield gets our troops killed and this PC-ness is killing them...literally. We have professional soldiers who are skilled at waging war, which means ending it faster than public opinion and politicians can. Obozo killed thousands of troops who didn't need to die. Let our Generals run the war, not a bunch of Snowflakes and politicians who don't have the stones to do what it takes to end it.

Proposal:
Any time troops are put in harm’s way 1/3 of the Senate and the House and their 3 top advisors are deployed with the troops on a rotating basis (30-60 days) until the war is won.

Let them see what the consequences of the actions (or lack thereof) are.

Of course, the last word given should come from the men and women who have suffered the most from these butheads who interfered and made a hard job even more difficult for so many years.

Can you imagine today’s political correctness, if we were that way on Dec. 7, 1941? Would we have ever been able to fight and win World War II, in today’s politically correct environment? I don’t think we could. Our response to Pearl Harbor would not have been one of declaring war and seeing that through to ultimate victory. Not the way things are today.

We will never defeat terrorism, it is a tactic.
The tactic is employed by Islam.
It has been a tactic of Islam since the days of Mohammed.
We must accept that Islam is at war with the rest of humanity and has been since 622 A.D.
Islam is at war with us and until we recognize and acknowledge that, accept it and respond accordingly, they will continue their jihad of almost 1400 years.
Islam must be eradicated as was Nazism.
It is the ideology of hate that drives the terrorism.
