Closer to home, enthusiasts can proclaim their commitment to Gaia by coloring their websites or painting their store fronts green. (Apparently thats all it takes, so perhaps my kitchen walls qualify.) Theyll sell posters and T-shirts and take donations for everything from planting trees to brainwashing children. Retailers will try to convince customers on the greenness of every product on their shelves, regardless of origin or purpose. I believe the term for this mass hysteria is greenwashing.
Hypocrisy abounds during this yearly event, as was comically illustrated in 2015 by Bill Nye (the science guy) who famously tweeted his plans to [head] down to DC to catch an #EarthDay flight on Air Force One tomorrow with the President. Were going to #ActOnClimate. (Wow, Bill, way to go.) Oh, and lets not forget Al Gore, that paragon of ecological virtue, whose carbon footprint makes that of Manhattan look modest.
Earth Day has become a cynical, bloated, empty-gesture, 24-hour orgy of self-righteous smugness, in one persons memorable words. Its not that green hypocrisy is anything new; its just that on Earth Day, its so glaringly obvious. Its no accident green activists are called watermelons: Green on the outside, red on the inside.

Just a thought, I wonder if sales at “hole”foods grocery stores will increase tomorrow as muffins show their support for living greener. ;-)
I’m going to fill in some low spots in my dirt road with some gravel and dirt to cut down on erosion. That’s more than some of these posers will be able to show.
Until they go out one day and say “ what’s all the creepy crawly things eating into my crops” and “who took a bite out of all my tomatoes?”
I meant the greenies, not the authors.
Bill Bye must have some kinda hurricane fighter plane if he’s gonna change the weather with Bammy O.
If you think living “green” is superior you should do it by example not say I am superior and you will do my will like the EPA, FDA, IRS, EIEIO....
You forgot “Do Da, Do Da”. ;-)

Earth Day has always and forever will be.....................a joke...
Bill Nye is a homosexual and he does not have a PhD in any scientific discipline or any discipline.
Um, okay. He may have a PHUD though. I do believe he has a degree on mechanical engineering so I guess that qualifies him in somone’s estimation as a climate scientist. Same way algore is “qualified” as one. ;-)
Whole Paycheck Foods is supposed to open a cheaper store in Austin. That’s funny.
I bet I use less energy the entire year than Algore or Bill Nye does in a month.
No, Nye is supposedly straight. He married a woman but called it quits when CA said the marriage wasn't legal. He later took out a restraining order on her when she tried to poison the rose bushes at their house so he couldn't give them to some other woman.
Well, you need to turn it up a notch tomorrow to celebrate the erf’s abudance. ;-)
Earth Day is another stupid day, promoted by stupid and ignorant people.
That fraudulent hucketer of a “scientist” is creepy to boot. Bow tie? I mean come on...
HEY! Dat be RAYCISS!
LOL yep someone will say it on the news next week.
