Things like that happen. Glad he is okay. He was a good pilot and was probably commended for landing safely under those conditions.
He couldn’t lower his flaps, so landed full speed. Rather than the preferred 3rd arresting cable, he caught the 2nd, so he was mad at himself!!! But the fleet Commander watched the landing, and he got a commendation for his feat. He also gave me — his Mother — gray hair when he told me! Sigh.
