When the situation was reversed and the Dems held the WH and the Senate, the Reps did not confront the Dems for fear of being blamed for shutting down the government. You would think the GOP would have the learned by now that there is a double standard and that they should ignore this crap and do what is right. The GOP acts like they are in the minority even when the control the levers of government.
Agreed. I think he should also plug the funds cut from NATO, the UN and the various foreign aid packages reduced into the wall. Moreover, the idiots who oppose him from the GOPe should be targeted for primary replacement by Trump loyalists.

If you think that, YOU WERE NOT LISTENING. He might have made one comment early on that could be construed that way; but, the rest of the time he NEVER LET HIMSELF BE DEFINED as deporting millions of children. Always pivoted to criminals and gang members.
I know this because, like many of us here, I watched dozens of his speeches, most of his interviews, and of course all the debates.
Except that the actual campaign promise was that Mexico, NOT US taxpayers, would pay for the wall.
The wall and cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood for starters.
Republicans know this was his most repeated, central promise of his entire campaign.
McConnell should do us all the favor of nuking the filibuster on this, too.

True enough, but Congress must provide the seed money to get the wall started so as not to delay construction. There are many ways to get Mexico to pay for the wall, e.g., a surcharge on visas; a tax on the annual $27 billion sent to Mexico as remittances; a tariff on Mexican imports; etc.
They know that. He can use drug money sitting in Treasury vaults.
The pivot on DACA did not take place until after the election.
He repeatedly said he would undo ALL of Obama’s executive actions on immigration.

During his August Phoenix immigration speech, Trump unambiguously stated that his new administration “will immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal immigrant amnesties, in which he defied federal law and the Constitution….”

In any event, this thread is about the wall and many of us agree with prioritizing removals by targeting felons first.
