Life is a lot easier (in the west) than it used to be, that’s gotta be a factor.

Snowflakes would have melted in the past, not survived to pass on their genes.

In centuries past, wars would have thinned these desirables out of the gene pool.

Instead, the two World Wars and various Bolshevik uprisings killed off a large portion of the cream of the crop, and what was left of that coddled and spoiled their offspring...and you have what we see today.
