So, those experts back in November and December, who said that with the Trump presidency...coal jobs were permanently lost and Trump would not be able to bring them back....they were wrong? Oh my.

I can remember at least two foundation idiots, and some environmental PhD nut who were on news shows and said it was a waste of time to think coal jobs would ever return....to be permanently lost.

-—As a Washington Times editorial put it very well recently, “The left gave up on the 100,000 coal workers in America more than a decade ago.-—

The left “gave up” on coal workers? The author must be kidding.

The left actively worked to DESTROY coal and enjoyed seeing the workers with nowhere else to go suffer.

Hillary’s statement that she would get rid of coal jobs was probably one of the most stupid statements any politician has ever said.

Regulation reform, especially as applied to the coal industry and the oil patch, is key to reinvigorating the economy. A vigorous economy provides virtually our only hope of avoiding a fiscal crisis because of our debt and deficit situation. We might be able to grow our way out of this mess with energy leading the way and reform in trade and taxes (including repatriation of foreign funds) stimulating as well.

Since there is no inclination anywhere in Washington, including the Trump administration, for cutting any entitlement and plenty of inclination to increase spending on military, infrastructure, and, perhaps, Ivankacare, growth has to come from somewhere.

Sadly it took voting twice for 0bama and seeing their livelihood disappear for the coal miner to finally realize the Democrats care more for perverts than the miners

...and these are SERIOUS JOBS. I suspect even bottom-level coal miners make over $100k with just a small amount of overtime. Once they’re back in big numbers, entire regions of the US will be thriving up again.

But the MSM and Saturday Night Live said they don’t want those jobs, they want fancy tech and white collar jobs!

“Cheap” natural gas is only cheaper than coal because of a huge number of unfair restrictions put on coal, coal users, and coal development.

When coal, coal burning plants, and other uses of coal are unshackled, then the idea of “cheap” is going out the window for natural gas.

Also, methanol is coal-based gasohol and it burns very cleanly. It’s development was curtailed due to over regulation.

Just a couple of notes to tamp down the hype. The 35,000 mining jobs includes oil and gas extraction. Rig counts are rising so much of that mining total is tied to drilling. Coal mining jobs are up about 1,000 to 50,300 since Oct-16.

If we are to accept the premise that coal, oil, and natural gas are “fossil fuels” consisting of dead prehistoric flora and fauna deposited in the earth and “cooked” for billions of years, then it’s all 100% Natural, Organic, and a “Gift from Planet Earth”.

It is not, however, “Fragrance-Free”, but nearly ALL natural products are not fragrance-free either! LOL!

Eco-Nazis want us poor, malnourished, cold, and living in the dark. In the days prior to the use of fossil fuel, our energy was derived from LIVING creatures. (Tallow and whale oil), but we had to KILL them to get at it.
