New York Times columnist Frank Bruni moderates a 'Times Talks' discussion between legendary feminist Camille Paglia and 'Watch What Happens Live' host Andy Cohen about life in the Trump era.
Paglia says Bruni's newspaper and the Democratic Party still have "soul searching" left to do about why they called 2016 wrong. "It is incumbent upon the defeated party to pull itself together, or else we're going to get the reelection of the present administration," she said.
"I didn't take him seriously at all," she said about the early days of the Trump campaign. "And then, shortly after the very first Republican debate, I saw Diamond & Silk, the African-American sisters doing a pro-Trump attack on Megyn Kelly on their podcast, and... I suddenly saw the populism, and from that moment forward, I could feel the momentum of it."
"The New York media was in an absolute bubble about this," she added.

I have a lot of respect for Camille Paglia.

Well, well, well speak of the devil! :-)
The video is 59 minutes long. Who in their right mind would listen to all of it?
The definition of insanity is Democrats.
Like Scott Adams, Paglia has been one of the more perceptive liberals when it comes to Trump.
I think Trump will not run for re-election.
Why would you think that? He filed papers for his re-election bid in 2020 the Monday after he got sworn in. He’s said numerous times, we’re here for eight years.
Don’t sell the Democrats short, Camille.
I have high hopes that they can jump many more sharks! Bigger sharks too!
It'll be a walk. A cake walk.
It’s awful that Ryan and McConnell are hurting his agenda.
Like Scott Adams, Paglia has been one of the more perceptive liberals when it comes to Trump.
...
Maybe, but she supports Sanders and voted for Stein. I get the feeling she doesn’t like Trump and certainly doesn’t want him reelected. You are right that she was perceptive about Trump’s chances.
She’s a quasi Marxist, but she has a rare appreciation for manly men.
It’s the lefty thugs like the ones at Berkely that will get him reelected too.
When we look back, 16 years from now (8 Trump, 8 Pence) no single pundit will have CORRECTLY predicted ANYTHING that’s happened in American during that time frame.
I’ve never been more hopeful for America since the Reagan years.
I mean, really. Have you? Has anyone?
I like Camille Paglia...she appears to have integrity. I haven’t read everything she has written, but she seems independent and willing to speak her mind.
>Paglia says Bruni’s newspaper and the Democratic Party still have “soul searching” left to do about why they called 2016 wrong.
The better news is the democrat idiots will keep sucking islams off while just being plain bad.

Lot of respect. I’m down with that. In the interview she admits she pegged candidate Trump wrong, but kept an open mind so she could see the popular appeal of our guy. The other guy (Cohen) on the panel is still in denial and still bashing Trump supporters.
I say good for Andy Cohen and the NYT and Frank Bruni. Camille is calling President Trump’s re-election already and laying it at the feet of these bozos “overplaying their hands.”
She has that rare commodity that can command respect, even among the two or three liberals on the planet who possess it. Intellectual integrity.
Like you, I respect her for that, although she and I would disagree on many issues.
