You’re right. Regardless of labels, still the same garbage.

Different garbage and different motivation may require different strategies to deal with them.
I'm opposed to carelessly slapping the label Terrorist on people who are not technically terrorists (or refusing to call it terror when it clearly is).
It's to distract us from the Real Terror, the Left is doing that a lot.

Chopping people's heads off is pretty terrifying for the victims.

That is what MS-13 has been doing. That's terror.

What would you consider “technically” a terrorist? In my opinion, any activity that instills terror in the public is terrorism, and should be dealt with in any effective manner available. On newscasts I see violence from MS and Mara 18, among others, on nearly a daily basis. Removing people from buses, shooting the driver, dowsing it with gasoline and setting it afire is terrorism. Killing taxi drivers with passengers aboard is terrorism. Shooting up little “Mom and Pop” stores, with no regard for anyone unlucky enough to be in the store at the time, because they refused to pay extortion is terrorism. Forcing businesses to close because they can’t afford to pay extortion to three or more different gangs, with death as the alternative, is terrorism.

Many people would welcome a Duterte style solution to the problem, but at any mention of a real crack down by the government the UN Human Rights culeros scream to high heaven and threaten a cutoff of foreign aid to the country. Obama was especially prone to use that stick to pander to corrupt politicians and coddle narco gangs.

I don’t know what the “Real Terror” is from which we’re being distracted, but I believe terrorism is terrorism regardless of what clothing it wears. The Policia Militar has been doing a good job during this current administration to put major pressure on the scumbags, but the Liberales and Libres (read: Democrats and Communists) are crying and whining to have that police force disbanded, much to the glee of the UN Commission. Unless Trump is willing to wield a huge club in the immigration and crime situations, all these things will soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.

re: labelling a group such as this a "terror group". I agree with you. There's too much danger of the label used for political purposes if it isn't very specifically about ISIS style terrorism. Turkey and Ukraine have already developed the practice of everyone who fights against the gov being labelled as a terrorist.

I wouldn't discount the possibility that the Democratic Party would label Deplorables as terrorists if they could. Why take even a small step down that slippery slope?
