Good morning FRiends! I hope yinz all had a blessed and joyful Easter.
Snap!
Good morning!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Missed a “tradition” on the group... No mention of fish frys, lol!
There weren’t as many here and the only one we went to wasn’t very good...sigh.
Pens win and lead the Blue Jackets 3-0!!!
Morning p6! Mr S did batter fried fish on Good Friday. Fish, pierogies and mac n’ cheese are staples in this house on Fridays during Lent!
We went to the inlaws on Easter Sunday. We baked a ham at home and took it over. Didn’t have any pineapple rings, so I used pineapple chunks on toothpicks and added a maraschino cherry on top. Turned out looking like a porcupine and the cherries were hard as rocks! Everybody laughed when I took it out of the oven! At least the ham was good. I made Paska break (hey, I’m part Polish so it’s a must!) and everybody enjoyed that as well. DIL made pickled eggs with beet juice. I love Easter traditions and that one will be added to ours!
Good morning, folks. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter. You know, I’ve never had Pascha bread. Will have to try it some time.
We just met my brother and his wife at a local buffet. The food was ok, but at least there was no clean-up!
Your Easter sounds wonderful, especially the Paska!
Our dinner was just mrs p6 and me so we decided on something non traditional. Since she is limited to only 2 beef meals a week we used the money for a big ham and fixins for 2 THICK rib eyes ans HUGE baked potatoes! Got the inch thick steaks at Sam’s Club.
First we went to oldest son’s house and helped cut an evergreen down and a couple other things. Cold have had dinner with them but we wanted to get home.
We ate during the Pen’s game and watched the entire thing.
The only traditional food/candy we had was hot cross buns from Giant Eagle and I bought 4 lbs of Ronald Reagan’s fav Jelly Beans on Amazon. Jelly Belly tiny beans. $22! Since I am the only one who likes them there are a lot left....sigh.
Mrs p6 did make Deviled eggs which went fast.
Wrapped the day up with Klondikes for desert. No leftovers.
Tonight it might be BLT sandwiches. Just light food for a couple of days.
...at least there was no clean-up!
That is the BEST part! Today my job is cleaning the kitchen. Then a simple, little clean up dinner.
Jelly Bellies are $22?? Must have been a huge bag!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter as well! We love having son and family living with us, but sometimes we both long for some peace and quiet. Son and wife need their space as well. They tell us one more year.......
We watched the second ‘shreck’ movie at inlaws house. Dang! too many adult themes stuck in there! Talk about ‘thongs’, pinocchio wearing womens underwear, transvestite bartender hitting on Prince Charming, etc. Geez, nothing is safe for our kids these days! I have much greater appreciation for “Dora the Explorer”, “Daniel the Tiger’s Neighborhood” and “Blues Clues”!
We both worked Sunday so we did Easter on Saturday..had both family here..
