Apples and oranges....
Equestrian sports, like most motor sports, shooting sports, etc., do NOT rely on the physical strength to the human participant: the horse, car, or gun are the strength, the human is the brain.
Men and women can compete equally in those arenae...

Same with shooters and chess players, since victory doesn’t depend on the physical strength of the human in those events.
Not exactly relevant, though, to physical sports like running, wrestling, etc.
