It is understood that Lloyds has made a final decision to turn its Berlin branch into a subsidiary, to ensure it has a hub inside the European Union once the UK leaves.

Lloyd’s of Leipzig!!
Lloyds Bank has no connection with Lloyd’s of London (which does insurance). Lloyd’s of London has yet to make a call where their EU ofice will be. Some think the favourite is Luxemburg - well at least it starts with an “L” !
A Win-Win! More work opportunities for everyone!
(BTW the first line in the Telegraph article makes the usual ploy, they try to conflate “EU” with “European”. Lloyd’s international HQ remains in Britain, it’s only their new “EU hub” that will be in Berlin.
As an example: the Single European Payment Area (SEPA) for Euros includes countries outside the EU, such as Iceland, and Lloyd’s SEPA operation could easily remain in Britain.)
Lloyds Banking Group to hang up on call centre staffers
Sources told us the roles are to be offshored to India and that some staff had actually helped to train their replacements. LBG refused to comment on this.
Lloyds Banking Group announced it was to close 100 branches this year.
