The Viper is great at turning. This is a specialized drag racing car.
A Yamaha R1 seats just one as well, and would eat this thing for lunch.
The Dodge Viper has a normally aspirated V-10 engine.
Robocop: “Excuse me, I have to go. Somewhere there is a crime happening.
“I’ll take this Dodge Demon. I’m a robot.”
Besides being far better and more exotic looking, the Viper had a V-10.

hmmm. Numbers don’t support you.
2.3 vs. 2.6
9.65 vs. 9.83
When I was driving my 2014 Stingray back from Vegas I tried out the ECO (4 Cylinder) Mode for about 50 Miles.
I got about 38 mpg but it was a pain in the Butt watching the Fuel Economy Gauge and stopping myself from putting the Pedal to the Metal.
Without using ECO Mode, the Car would get 26-28 MPG at 70-75 MPH in 6th or 7th Gear running around 2000 RPM.
Of course it gets old driving a Corvette like it’s a Prius.
That was the first and last time I ever used ECO Mode. Track Mode was much more fun.
Once upon a time single seat cars like that were called, funny cars. Or prostockers.
This is the kind of car I’d have killed for when I was 16. Unfortunately, now that I can afford it, I can’t appreciate it the way the 16-year old version of me would have.
Go steal yourself a Honda Accord?
Remember the Holden GTO? I just searched one, a 2006 with low miles: 65K!
It can't compete in an NHRA event without a roll cage. If you put a roll cage in your Demon, then they won't ban your car.
“It can’t compete in an NHRA event without a roll cage. “
For those that don’t run less than 10.0 you can get by with a roll bar.
Oh you would!!!! LOL
Good for you.
That would be nice...

I was never into the auto scene that much. I know what I liked in the day, but that was about it.
My mom took me to the oval dirt tracks when I was a kid. I was young and those things were very very loud. We were right down near the track, and of course mud was flying and all that noise. I think that put me off of racing a bit.
I was a hellion behind the wheel. I really enjoy driving fast, shifting... I’d do some crazy stuff.
At any rate thanks for the mention. I’m sure others identified with your mention.
Even the old Beetles had 4-wheel independent suspension.
That’s straight line. Throw a curve or two in and everything changes. Of course there’s the matter of coming back alive - which would be a lot easier in the Dodge. Shifting gears with the front wheel in the air has always spooked me.
“Of course it gets old driving a Corvette like its a Prius.”
I have a C5 (6 speed) and I routinely get 33mpg driving back and forth between the Bay Area and Monterey at 70 to 75. Just get up to speed, drop into 6th gear, and pop on the cruise control.

Both the Camaro and the Mustang have IRS and their track versions are amazing, particularly the Camaro with 650 hp.
There is a new Shelby coming out that is supposed to be as outrageous as the Demon.I cant wait.
