How did they handle the loss? Did they get 'very quiet' about the race?
I went back to check and not too much being said. When they do, most are taking the angle of how close it was and how that means gloom and doom for the Republican Party. One article, Thompson was blaming the Democrat party for not bringing in more money for him. He thinks he has a great chance against Estes in 2018.
These people don't realize, an off election year was the time for the dems to pull off an upset here, with lower turnouts for those, but they failed. A normal election year will be much tougher for them where there is typically better turnout.
On an interesting note, KAKE news, which I like to call KAKA news, had an election day blog I was checking out. They were quoting Daily KOSmunists in their reporting, and KOSmunists were working and donating to help Thompson. Their news director once told me they were one of the most conservative local news around. I had a big LOL on that one and told him so. Working with Daily KOS doesn't bolster his argument at all.
