Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland bent over backward to protect White House visitor logs from disclosure, transparency advocates say, leading to their concern about his approach to the law.

The Obama administration has disclosed some White House visitor records as a matter of policy since 2009, but in 2013 the White House won a major appeals decision from Garland that disclosure is not legally necessary under the Freedom of Information Act.

Interesting reading in light of recent history.

I'll say it again: Thank God for Pres. Trump. I have no idea how Gorsuch will rule, but it's obvious where Garland stood on transparent govt. Whew!

So the Supreme Court nomination was his pay off. Glad it didn’t work out for him of Bambi.

Garland was a rubber stamp to any form of government overreach and any expansion of government control over you. That is why the Dems wanted him.

Garland, a typical liberal and/or Democrat judge. Worthless.

We have to thank McConnell too.

He stood tall during the SCOTUS appointment period.

Yeah, McConnell did hang tough, didn’t he? What brought that on, testosterone supplements?

Or the fact that the President is his wife’s boss.

In any case, he gets major props for this one.

Yes he does, and unqualified ones too.

I’ve been dogged in my criticism of him, but he was stand up on this.

I’m so glad we have Gorsuch.

It was Obamatollah’s plan to replace a Conservative on SCOTUS.

Never forget one of Podesta’s emails referenced “wetworks” just 3 days before Scalia was murdered.

Thanks to McConnell (I never thought I’d say that), Obamatollah’s plan failed.

You wouldn’t have had to worry about Garland. Had Hitlery won, he’d have been tossed aside for an even more rabid pinko.

If I was a glass half empty type, I’d say Mitch was counting on Hillary winning. So, he could look tough while keeping an opening available for her. But, there’s no way to know that, so. . . .

Garland would have been at least as much of a leftist as any of the Clinton or Obama appointees. But he is much more qualified than Obama’s first two picks, second-raters who got their seats because of identity politics (first Hispanic justice and first lesbian justice).
