You seem to think tyrants are highly rational and always do the right thing for the right reasons. And you offer that as the reason that we cannot believe President Trump.

sure sure

So Saddam Hussein jerked the UN weapons inspectors around because it was logically and rationally in his best interests to give Bush a pretext for invading. Hussein had everything to gain by cooperating with Hans Blix, and everything to lose by playing never ending games with him, and denying Blix access all over the place—often at the last minute.

Dictators usually become increasingly paranoid and decreasingly rational over time. Assad wouldn’t be the first to act stupidly.

Who reported locally? Who tested the victims? Was it the “doctor” who made the videos - a convicted terrorist?

Was the sigint done by the same people who have the capability of fabricating communications and putting anybody else’s fingerprints on those communications?

I have no reason to believe any of those actors. In fact, there are very few entities involved with the US government that I would believe without doing some serious investigation first.

And THAT is the biggest crisis we face. Nobody is believable so the best any wise person can be is agnostic on most things the US government says.

What is so far fetched that Assad and Putin actually worked for Obama, pretending there were no chemical weapons to help him in his elections?

Pro Putin people ironicaly paint themselves in a corner that absolves democrats of misdeeds of collaboration with enemies
