THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) The eurozones top official said fatigue may have played a role for comments he made last month that unleashed a storm of criticism across southern Europe.
In an interview with Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant, published Monday, Jeroen Dijsselbloem said the scale of the backlash made it look like I committed a war crime.

The basic problem is that Southern Europe and Northern Europe do not belong on the same currency.
They don’t have to insult each other, but they should learn the recognize that it does not work. The Southern European economies need to be able to devalue their currencies while their governments go bankrupt.

If Germany & France were not on their socialist agenda for the EU, that they are holding themselves responsible for saving “southern Europe” (and Eastern Europe now) from themselves, and putting those nations on the EU industrial development plantation society rules and regs, southern Europe would have just flipped the bird at the fellow. But instead they saw the elite contempt that many norther European’s actually hold for them.
Several years ago, a colourful local ne’er-do-well won a few million in a lottery. A few years later, it was all gone. When reporters asked what happened to it, he replied (paraphrasing): I spent most of it on booze, women and gambling. The rest, I just wasted.
Its a pretty good use of your OWN money but not tax money.
They think it is their money.
