Its a pity that Trump has taken actions that are contrary to his better instincts. During the campaign he made it clear that if ISIS and the other radical jihadists were to be destroyed, the US would have to make common cause with Russia. First destroy the field jihadist, then the Wahhabi and the House of Saud that inspire and fund them. It is tragic for Western culture that Trump and Putin cannot make the necessary common cause and are being distracted.
